Ryan's down for the count

Ryan had surgery this morning related to a tooth implant that he got when he was 14 (Yes...that was 20 years ago). I was informed by the doctor that they started research on implants in 1985 (when I was 1) and Ryan had it done in 1989 (when I was 5), so a lot has changed since then. His implant is fine, but the crown is loose so it will need to be replaced. The point of the surgery today was to do a bone graft at the top of his gums (above his front tooth). For some reason, this area of his mouth never healed correctly and was kind of hollow. So the doctor went in, cut him open, and inserted a cow bone or something else from another kind of donor. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and his body doesn't reject it. He's not feeling very well, but is definitely getting caught up on his sleep. While driving home from the hospital, he told me he thought he could have driven himself. He immediately followed this thought with, "I would have to close one eye though". I couldn't stop laughing at his funnies and the fact that he could hardly open a bottle of gatorade...yeah, I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want some drugged up, weak, one eyed, puffy lipped person driving a car on the same road I was on.

I had a dental implant done in January. I hope I never have the bone issues.
