Holy Moly!

Yeah so I haven't posted anything on here in FOREVER!!! I will try to do better. Wedding plans are being finalized, I started a new job and am forever busy, and I need to find time to take dance classes. That sums up everything for now. Until next time....

Mikey and Macy update

I realized that since we got Macy I haven't posted much about the dogs. Mikey and Macy are perfect together! They love each other and never leave each others sides. Macy is a great mix of goofy, prissy and labby. Mikey tolerates her but he's still the alpha dog, which is what we wanted when we decided to adopt Macy. We recently took them to Pet Fest in Spring, TX so that Macy could see her foster mom and her foster mom could see how great she's doing. Sometimes, when the dogs are outside playing, I see quirks in her that remind me so much of Debo. It's like he helped us find a dog that had some of the annoying things that he did, mixed with some of the things he didn't that I wished he had (like listening to me!). Sometimes I think he is laughing with us when we watch her and how funny she can be. Below are some pictures from the last 6 months with her.
Madden came to visit this summer and got to really play with Mikey and Macy. He loves them! He loves to say "Puppies". He seemed to like Macy more but she didn't want that much to do with him unless he was laying on the couch. She is very cautious. Mikey seemed to get tired of him and would sleep in the corner, hoping to avoid contact after awhile. He's just an old man and gets very tired and needs his rest! haha.
Madden is such a good sharer!
If Ryan is outside, this is where you can find both dogs. They just watch him and whine until he comes inside again. They do NOT do this if I am outside!
The dogs constantly play with each other which is perfect! They have several toys that they play tug-of-war with. Macy also likes to steal anything that Mikey is chewing on...just to steal it. He is such a gentleman...he almost always lets her have it.
A cold morning snuggling in bed. Look how cute they are! Mikey is, of course, snuggling up to me with his head on my pillow, and Macy is using him as her pillow. So sweet.
Macy gets extremely relaxed when you pet her. She fights falling asleep and gets really droopy eyes like this. So funny to watch!
So cute!
Typical Labs...If something's cooking in the kitchen, that's where you will find them! Mikey is much better at cleaning my floors than Macy, but she's there in spirit!
Macy is a little cautious at first when people come over, but she has since really warmed up to Melissa and Victoria when they come over. This picture is from last time Mel was over a couple weeks ago...Macy couldn't get enough kisses!

Introducing Aubrey Kate Albores!

Mark and Ashley have welcomed their adorable little girl, Aubrey Kate! She came a little early on 11/12/09 and was born at noon on the dot!
She really is beautiful! Lots of brown hair and eyes that we're sure will change color eventually. She's a little thing at 6lbs 5 oz, but that was about a pound more than they thought she was going to be!
We can't wait to spoil her rotten...I'm sure she will be! First grand child for Margo and Willie, they are elated. First niece for me, so of course I'm looking forward to that! Now that I have a nephew and a niece, I don't care if we have a boys or girls :-)

The pressure's on! I say 5 years...Ryan says that's way too long. We'll just have to see!

Trip to Austin for some wedding research

Hotel Lobby
Melissa and I have decided we will be back when the weather warms up for a girls weekend consisting of laying at the pool...and nothing else.

We road tripped it out to Bastrop one weekend with Chad and Mel. They're also engaged and looking for a wedding venue so we decided to spend the night at the Hyatt Lost Pines (yay for gaining hyatt points!).

This hotel was gorgeous and the setting is amazing. It's only 2 hours from Houston but feels like its off in the woods in the middle of no where. I can't wait to go back and golf. Of course the day we were there was the first real cold day this season, but it was nice since the fireplaces were going inside and out.

This is the wedding lawn where they have a lot of their wedding ceremonies. Ryan loved this place, but it was a bit too pricey for how many people we expect to have.

Update since Summer

Well where to start....we are finally getting married!!! Ryan proposed right around midnight on September 5th so I finally get the chance to wear my beautiful ring every single day! We've started the wedding plans and have decided to get married in Austin, TX. Close enough, but also far enough away to make a little destination out of it. We're getting married at Vintage Villas that overlooks Lake Travis on October 17, 2010. We decided on a "Sunday Brunch" theme so the ceremony will start at 11 a.m.
