A letter from the HOA:...a good thing?...Huh?!?

I got home today and got the mail, as usual, and saw a post card from our HOA company. It was addressed to Ryan and I and I was almost really pissed off because I had called them recently to complain about some people's yards in our community. I couldn't believe they were sending us a notice about something! Well I looked closer and saw that the post card said "SPECIAL RECOGNITION". And I quote:

"As you are aware, ACMI makes periodic inspections of your subdivision on behalf of your Community Association. Unfortunately, the majority of our focus ends up being on those properties where the resident is not adhering to required standards. Your property is an exception - based upon our inspection on 3/13/2009 you are obviously interested in how your home looks, and it shows. This letter is to recognize the special effort you have obviously made to maintain your property and congratulate you on the good example you set for your neighbors. Keep up the good work!"

So needless to say, it was definitely not what I expected. I didn't even know that HOAs did this sort of thing. Maybe it has something to do with all the flowers we planted recently and the old ones that are finally blooming? See the slideshow below:

Rodeo Rodeo

Dad had some great tickets for work for the rodeo. Dead front and center. I got my hands on the Brad Paisley tickets, which was a really fun time. He's really good live. We made it a girls night with Melissa, Alisha and Vicki and had a lot of fun. Needless to say, I was extremely tired on Friday but the rainy weekend allowed me to catch up on the sleep that I missed.

Finally, something goes my way

My appeal was passed! I start my classes on April 1, take my first content exam (to see if I can just pass and get it out of the way) on April 4th, and hopefully will start my teaching in August. Keep your fingers crossed!

Our patio is finally getting done next weekend! Just pray for good weather!

Goodbye highlights....Hello green eyes!

It's just like me to get tired of the same old thing. But with this one, I was also tired of spending about $100 every 2 months to get my highlights done. I've been known to switch from blonde to brown, but this is the darkest I've ever gone. I'm liking it so far. It's pretty shiny. We'll see how it goes. Ryan just asked me if I colored my hair....did he have to ask?
