Comments

Yeah so I just realized this morning that everyone has been leaving me comments about my blogs...so since I just now read them, Thanks everyone! Haha.

We ordered a nice 6 sided box for Debo. We can put pictures in it and it comes with a little plaque with his name and birthdate and death date on it. So if you see this at our house...don't knock it over!!!

Currently 2, but soon to be just 1 :-(

Debo was diagnosed with lymphoma and given only 4 weeks to live about 6 months ago now. We opted not to do chemo because of the cost as well as the quality of life that it would have given him. Instead, we did some research and have been giving him supplements and a special diet that has prolonged his time with us much longer than we originally expected. However, the last couple of weeks, he has lost lots of weight and isn't getting around quite as easily. We are taking him to the vet in the morning just to check some things, but will probably have to make the decision to put him down very soon. He seems to be telling Ryan that he is ready to go because he is following him every where and resting his head on his lap, which is very unlike Debo. I know we are both not looking forward to this decision, but we only want what is best for him and do not want him to suffer. Unfortunately, I think he is starting to. I just wish it wasn't right around Christmas when we had to deal with all of this. Regardless, here are a few of my favorite pictures of our boys together. They love eachother very much and I know Mikey will miss Debo lots when he is gone, as will we. Life will be very different for all of us.

Ready for Christmas

Well, all the basics are decorated in the house for Christmas...but I can't say that I wont be tempted to buy more!

SNOW DAY!!!

We had a snow day tonight! It was very cold this morning, and I heard on the news that San Antonio got some snow, and that Katy and areas north of Houston may get some as well. Around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, my coworker was looking out the window at the rain and discovered that there were a few snow flakes mixed in. Around 4, it became more obvious, and then stopped around 4:30. When we left work at 5:30, it was really starting to come down. On my way home, it was pouring snow flakes that were about the size of quarters. I was on the phone with Ilene. This morning, we said we were going to pray for snow...and we got it!!! So now, even if I don't get snow while I'm in Colorado for Christmas, at least I got it here! See all my pictures... I took a bunch!

Good Hair Weather is Upon Us!

I am very happy that the weather has finally gotten cool and the humidity is gone...for the time being. I'm super excited that I don't have to use my staightener every single morning now.
The velcrow rollers have come back out and I'm having fun receiving lots of compliments on my full head of hair! I felt the need to take a picture of this right before I left for work yesterday. Now I'm thinking of changing it up a bit with bangs or a different color...tell me what you think. All suggestions are appreciated!
Also, in celebration of this lovely wintery weather, Ryan and I will be having a Christmas themed date night tonight. We plan to go to Colinas in Rice Village for a little sauteed calamari (perfect when it's cold outside!) and then make a stop at Starbucks for an Eggnog Latte, and then it's off to River Oaks and the Heights (two of our old neighborhoods) for some home tours! I can't wait to bundle up and enjoy it!

Staying home is boring

I am still sick and was up all night last night so I stayed home today to get some rest and finish getting better. I finally feel better except for a little bit of a sore throat and an annoying cough. But today was very boring. I stayed in bed until about 2:30 p.m. and then finally got up to take my first shower since Saturday. I know, it's gross, but I couldn't move at all yesterday. This morning, I watched the news, fell asleep, woke up to hear Hillary speaking about something boring, fell back asleep and then woke up to catch the middle of "Father of the Bride" and then the beginning of "Out of Africa". What a pointless movie! I kept waiting for something to happen that actually meant something, but it never did... I'm still confused as to what the purpose was. It was good I guess, but just pointless.

Once I got myself up, I got my much needed Eggnog Latte from Starbucks and made my final trip to Garden Ridge for this season. The inside of the house is almost done being decorated and next week we'll do the outside (Ryan wants to buy all new lights).

I'll poste pictures when I get them.
