Wii and being sick don't mix

So, it never fails that when I have a long holiday weekend...I will get sick. I woke up Wednesday feeling a cold coming on so I went to the doctor to get some totally useless medications. They didn't help me. I was feeling better on Friday, but of course, today (Saturday) I have totally new symptoms that are 10x worse than before! Not a happy camper. I would have liked to have at least 1 day this weekend that I felt healthy and was able to enjoy myself, but I guess I'll have to wait for Christmas vacation...keep your fingers crossed that I don't get sick AGAIN.

Ryan and I went to see the movie 4 Christmases today. It was really funny and we had a very relaxing afternoon. I love going to see early afternoon movies. After the movie, we met Chad and Melissa for some saki and sushi, and somehow talked them into buying a Wii so we could play it. We plan on getting one ourselves, so it was fun to make them the guinea pigs. haha. We went to their house and played for about 3 hours. I really think my arm is going to be sore tomorrow from playing tennis so hard. It really is an active video game and I think that I should have just stayed in bed and rested because I'm feeling pretty crappy. Anyway, we played tennis, bowling, golf and baseball. I kicked ass in all of them. I am a Wii Master. A Wiimster.

I'm going to go to sleep now!

Christmas Already???

So we got things started early this year...I bought our Christmas tree last weekend and wanted to keep it in the garage until this weekend when we planned to set it up. While I was cleaning, I guess Ryan wanted a project because I came out into the foyer and saw that he was already setting up the tree! So we made a day out of putting all the ornaments on it and we felt very productive to have our tree set up before Thanksgiving! Here's a picture. Best one yet!
Since I had a very productive day shopping today, there are now several wrapped presents under the tree that are not pictured here.
More decorations will soon follow. Hopefully we'll get some lights put up outside, and I will for sure be decorating the mantel and dining room. Stay tuned....

Thanksgiving

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we had it at our new house. I cooked for the first time and considering that I was sick, I think everyone was pretty happy with my efforts. There was a ton of food and Ryan and I definitely won't be able to go grocery shopping any time soon since there is no room in the fridge.

Since I will be in Denver for Madden's first Christmas, I'm enjoying seeing just pictures from his first Thanksgiving. This one is my favorite...love the mashed potatoes that off-set the bright blue eyes!

Wedding Festivities!

So last week was Vicki and Ryan's wedding. Here are a few pictures from the big day. I will post more as we get them in. I loved the red dresses. My favorite color is red :-)

The ride to the church!

After the rehearsal dinner, Vicki, Megan and I went back to Vicki's hotel. She was staying in an apartment suite in downtown that had a fully stocked kitchen. Megan and I were entertained by this concept. See below...

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins!!!

The wedding was a lot of fun and really beautiful. We know they will be a very happy couple and live happily ever after!

Getting Started

I've started this site because I'm basically a copy-cat of Vicki's sister. Her's is so cute so I figured I'd give it a try. Of course, I don't have 4 kids, so mine will be a bit lacking, but I have plenty to talk about so I'll try to keep this as updated as possible.
